Infrastructure projects are a vital part of Rajaratnam's philanthropic efforts, particularly in underserved regions of Sri Lanka. Efforts include:

• Northern Province (Oasis Integrated):   Building and renovating homes, constructing wells to ensure water access for farming and hygiene, and providing electricity.
• Eastern Province (Palmyrah): Supporting micro enterprise development, loan  making, and enhancing aquaculture.
• Post  Tsunami Relief: Rajaratnam contributed $17 million to rebuild houses in South and East Sri Lanka after the 2004 tsunami.

Community  focused initiatives are central to Rajaratnam’s mission:
Oru Panai (Central Province): Providing daily meals to elderly residents, along with English and business skill education.

• Rotary Club (Northern Province): Supporting small  scale rice farmers by funding resources needed for production.
• Sapumal Foundation (Southern Province): Helping local artists achieve economic independence.
• Somasakthy Foundation (Southern Province): Focusing on uplifting communities through various support programme.
• Monaragala Region (Southern Province): Providing extensive aid to some of the country’s poorest communities.
