Philanthropy plays a critical role in addressing the gaps in development, especially in areas that are often overlooked. Through its strategic initiatives in housing and livelihood support, OASIS has inspired positive change in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka, proving that targeted philanthropy can have a lasting impact.

With a grant of $176,000 from the Truth to Power Foundation, OASIS has managed to build 14homes, complete 13 others, and implement a variety of livelihood projects that have enabled families to earn stable incomes. This targeted support has allowed individuals to create businesses, improve their livelihoods, and lift themselves out of poverty.

One of the most inspiring aspects of OASIS’s work is the empowerment of women. Many of the families benefiting from the livelihood projects are headed by women who are now able to earn a living through activities such as poultry farming and small-scale agriculture. These women have seen their incomes rise significantly, giving them the financial security to support their families and send their children to school.

OASIS’s work is a shining example of how philanthropy can create opportunities and inspire change, providing families with the tools and resources they need to build a better future.
